OVERDRIVE SETUP INFORMATION
1) Be sure that you have first uninstalled any previous versions & rebooted your machine if you are reinstalling.
Windows: To uninstall, click on: START > PROGRAMS (or ALL PROGRAMS) > OVERDRIVE and then in the Overdrive folder, click on Uninstall Overdrive. Follow the directions.
Mac OSX: No need to delete anything. The Installer knows if a previous version was installed and handled things properly.
2) Go to www.usatek.net/overdrive/ to get the software if you don't already have it downloaded.
For Macintosh, continue with Step 12 below.
Windows:
3) Save the file to your Desktop: Click the Save button and for the following "Save As" prompt, make sure the Desktop is selected and then click the save again, just so that Windows knows you really do want to save it after all.
4) Once the file is downloaded, disconnect from the Internet and close all open programs, then begin the install process.
5) Be sure to check the box to Accept the Agreement Terms or the install will not continue. Click Next.
6) Confirm the Destination folder and click Next.
7) The installer will now copy over files.
8) Click Finish and allow the machine to reboot to complete the install and remove the temporary files.
9) After rebooting, you may delete the installer, overdrive.exe, from your Desktop. If it gives you a warning that you can no longer run the program, don't worry. This does not affect the installed Overdrive program.
10) Now, when you start Overdrive for the first time, it will prompt you for your dialup username & password.
*IMPORTANT* The dial-up username must be in the format of username@domain.name
11) You are done with the Windows installation. Overdrive will start automatically when you start your system.
Macintosh OSX:
12) After the DMG image file is downloaded, the installer will automatically start.
13) Click the Continue button and accept the license agreement.
14) Continue through the Continue and Upgrade prompts until the installation is complete.
15) The prorgam will start and ask for your dial-up username and password.
*IMPORTANT* The dial-up username must be in the format of username@domain.name
16) You may click the close button on the installer and you are ready to go. Overdrive will start automatically when you start your system.
