What is OptimalDSL?
OptimalDSL is USAtek's premium, high-speed Internet service. OptimalDSL allows you to surf the web at blazing speeds - at least 50-100 times faster than standard dialup! Download music, photos, emails, and video at amazing speeds with no waiting. You no longer have to wait through the dialup process since OptimalDSL is always connected. It does not tie up your phoneline so that you are able to talk on the phone and surf the Internet at the same time.

Who Does the Billing?
USAtek now does all the billing for the Internet connection. Windstream bills USAtek the DSL line charge and any taxes or fees and USAtek passes these charges directly on to you. We also bill you the ISP charge on which there are no taxes from from USAtek. This allows you to see the related billing altogether, without having it clutter up your home phone bill - and that's confusing enough as it is from Windstream!

Do I Need A Modem and Can I Get It Free?
Yes, and yes! You need a different modem than the one used for regular dial-up services. The good news, is you can get the DSL modem free (except for shipping and handling charges), You must agree to a one year contract with Windstream or be billed the current DSL modem price of $99.95. There is a one-time shipping charge of $9.95 for the DSL modem. With the contract, there will be an immediate $49.95 credit on your phone bill, and a $50 rebate coupon in the modem box that you must send in. If you've lost it, you can download it here.) It is part of the DSL Modem Installation Kit which is sent directly to your house.

USAtek DSL PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
If you are you intersted in DSL internet service...

You must live in, or near, one of these areas.
Windstream (formerly Alltel) must be your phone company. Since Windstream supplies the DSL circuit to your home, you must currently have phone service with them. After the line is installed USAtek will supply your Internet service over that line.

Usually, you must live within 18,000 feet of your local Windstream CO. If you are not sure about this one, don't worry. This will be determined by us as the first step of your pre-qualification for DSL eligibility.
